Angelic voices. Brilliant brass. Christmas music and sing-alongs. Who could ask for anything more? The Phil is renowned for its traditional Christmas musical offering and we’re thrilled to welcome back the Winnipeg Brass Quintet to help us celebrate the comfort and joy of the season!
Winnipeg Brass Quintet
Since 1975, the Winnipeg Brass Quintet has performed concerts and recitals, and presented workshops in universities, colleges, high schools and churches throughout North America. But their heart lies in performing right here in their home town of Winnipeg at Christmas concerts, Easter services, recitals, weddings, church services, school concerts and countless other special events.
The Quintet’s solid tradition of performing excellence has been passed down through the generations. Shannon Moses (French horn) is the daughter of Quintet founder Fraser Linklater. She is joined by Dean Pollard (trumpet), whose father Gary was the heart of the Quintet for over 30 years. Also helping to carry on the exceptional tradition of excellence are Kenton McPeek (tuba), Jason Kehler (trombone) and Shannon Little (trumpet). The Quintet is thrilled to join with the Winnipeg Philharmonic Choir in celebrating this Christmas season with you.
