Our second concert of the season features a repertoire written for chorus and strings. The Phil will highlight composers from the classical to the contemporary with a special focus on Norwegian choral master Ola Gjeilo, and we will partner with a string quartet of local Winnipeg musicians including our own Vijay Chalasani, Manager of the Phil.

Our epic season finale will see the Winnipeg Philharmonic Choir join forces with our friends the Winnipeg Singers and musicians of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra. This magnificent oratorio will be sung on Palm Sunday alongside sacred baroque masterworks by Bach and Kuhnau.

Choral Perfection

There are few places classical choral music lovers can gather to hear high-quality traditional music on a grand scale. Deeply rooted in the choral community, The Phil is Winnipeg’s leading classical choir, providing audiences with an experience that’s dramatic, profoundly moving, and full of heart. The Phil has commissioned works by composers from both Manitoba and across Canada.
